Historic Italian Winery Frescobaldi Makes the Quintessential Tuscan Wine—Here’s How

We came to them with grape expectations.

Imagine on your palate red berries, sour cherry, and dried plum, with a fresh and spicy finish, and the faint aroma of indescribable fruit. Not too citrusy but more pulpy, with bouquets of black cherry, raspberry, blueberry, redcurrants, and blackcurrants. If that sounds like the beginning of an off-kilter recipe for a pie, it’s not, but the nose notes on the Nipozzano Riserva Chianti Rufina DOCG, a legendary wine produced at Castello di Nipozzano.

Its ruby-red colour makes for an elegant pour; as you turn the stem, the rich blush of red eases into the wine glass, and a fine nose can detect abundant aromas. A heady mix of the finest grape—Sangiovese, Colorino, and Cabernet Sauvignon—the varietals make for a smooth sip. It’s one of the finer entry-level wines from Frescobaldi; the Nipozzano has a marvellous balance and a lovely freshness evoked from the floral hints—violets and rosehip—characterises the profile of this wine. It’s hard to believe this refined and excellent wine is but a mere introduction to the flight that Frescobaldi offers.

Toop 10 Best Summer Menswear Looks, Trends, and Accessories for Your Season in the Sun

It’s hot out—so look the part.

As the temperature rises and the humidity hits, wearing a three-piece suit for work or leisure is no longer a palatable option. It’s the time to embrace that working contradiction: smart-casual. Let it leap into the lingua franca once again; as the fashion overlords will have it, casual but refined elegance seems to be the chant of the season. Light colours (soft greys, mocha, and baby pink), light fabrics (linen, cotton, and light cashmere) are the long and short of what’s on trend in menswear—and why even the esteemed Louis Vuitton has formal designer shorts in the offing. Here are a few fine examples from the leaders of good taste.

This Quirky Jewellery Collection Imagines Burgers, Spaghetti, and Cutlery Into Dazzling Accessories

An original if ever, Nadine Ghosn’s work celebrates the ordinary.

It’s a good-looking burger; the bun is perfectly round and fluffy, the phalanx of sesame seeds on top are crunchy, the lettuce looks crisp, and the slice of tomato succulent and pulpy. Delicious, and yet distinctly inedible—the bun’s made of gold, the seeds are diamonds, the tomatoes rubies, and the tsavorite lettuce should not be eaten under any circumstance.

Inside Jimmy’s Kitchen, the Return of a Legendary Hong Kong Restaurant

After its lengthy hiatus, the doors are open once again in this latest incarnation.

“Is the chicken Kiev still on the menu?”

Irrevocably, it is the first question on everyone’s mind when they step through into the newly returned Jimmy’s Kitchen. Be it the beef Wellington in Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London’s Chelsea, the beef Stroganoff from the Russian Tea Room in New York, or the black cod miso at Nobu around the world, there are certain signature dishes associated with famed chefs and legendary locales that are symbiotically interlinked together.

Yes, the chicken supreme Kiev is still on the menu (and as good as memory serves). Jimmy’s chicken Madras returns in style, and the baked Alaska arrives with all the theatrics one has grown accustomed to. In fact, many of the famed fan favourites remain, as tampering with the leather-bound menu of Jimmy’s Kitchen would be sacrilege to the culinary gods and its discipled, long-time diners. Of course, there are new—and welcome—additions to the courses, but some things simply shouldn’t be tampered with.

For a discerning nose, decanters of rosy elixirs are ripe for the picking.

Well-Being Guru Deepak Chopra on the Power of Positive Thinking, the Infinite Potential of AI, and the Importance of Joy

The prominent New Age medicine advocate discusses health, longevity, and the pillars of wellness at his multi-day retreat programme at Rakxa in Bangkok.

Deepak Chopra’s global fame landed long before he does at Rakxa, as his published books, frequent television appearances, and congregational talks have often addressed alternative medicine, Eastern philosophies, and holistic care for a healthy life. No wonder his symposium, The Life & Soul Longevity Retreat At Rakxa With Dr Deepak Chopra, was a well-peopled affair as the Indian-American author and alternative-medicine advocate has been a prominent figure in the New Age movement since the 1970s. His gospel of approaching alternative medicine with the backing of his own scientific research has made him a globally recognised figure, with studious qualifications.

The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore: A Warm Embrace of the Finest Hotel

My photos just don't do it justice. An incredible time in Singapore thanks to the amazing team - the ladies in red - that work at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore.

In Singapore a couple of things are a given; great food, cleanliness and efficiency. There's a warmth and friendliness -- a sincere one -- that other cities in Asia can't seem to replicate.

Can't wait to go back.
