When Versace reposted our shoot!
TBT: We did a cover shoot for Runway magazine, with my favourite team led by Dino Busch (photographer), Bhisan (stylist) and Yana (super duper model). There were two amazing shots that Dino took with a full Versace look that went viral online - before the term was popularised in the vernacular.

Rest in Peace Lili Luo
When we were working on 40 under 40, Lili went out of her way to ensure that the team was taken care of and sent out her staff to collect food and coffee from Starbucks. She had everything hand delivered to the studio while we were taking portraits and she changed outfits. She made sure everyone, from makeup artist to photographer's assistant, the entire team was taken care of. Photographer Dino Busch and I were amazed by her generosity and she had long left the studio by the time we realised what she had done.
To see the news in the paper of her untimely death at the age of 34... Thankfully what sticks to memory is her laugh and expedience and kindness...
RIP Lili Luo. Our entire team has been thinking of you and keeping your name in our prayers this week.

Rama loves.. Tina Loves! KOL Tina Leung
Happy birthday to the Instagram OG herself, Tina Leung (shot by Dino Busch). With nearly 300,000 followers on Instagram (cumulatively more with all her social media handles), she was one of the early birds who jumped on the wagon and took it to the stratosphere as a genuine fashionista and influencer.
She talks about causes near and dear to her, plus shares her exuberant love for all things fashion (and junk food!) with alacrity and alarming frequency.
Was lovely to feature her in 40 under 40 - but more so to see her interact with the team. Our hair stylist, makeup artist, wardrobe team and crew were all fans of Ms Leung and were thrilled to work with her - post shoot, they asked for selfies with the famed one before she zoomed off. She complied with such grace and humility - makes me like my ex neighbour even more.
My feature and shoot with Tina is online here.
You can follow Tina on her instagram here https://www.instagram.com/tinaleung/?hl=en

TBT: Peter Cheung: Society feature and shoot at The Grand Hyatt

Peter Cheung by Dino Busch photography |
As an erstwhile Society Editor who has seen socialites of all shapes and sizes run in and out of favour and flavour, he knows far more than he'll ever let on.
For the final article in print we had two chats. One that was rather... PC... and we don't mean his initials. But so matter-of-fact that it read a bit like a press release. Then, we had another, over champagne by the pool at the Hyatt. Far more fun. The long walks down memory lane, the glamorous shoot and the video is online at the magazine's official site.
Peter was one of the first few people I interviewed for the Society column for the paper so long ago, Jesus was a boy back then.

The Art of Love Kate Bryan: The most fascinating couples in the world of art
Having featured Ms Bryan since her time in Hong Kong, am very excited to pick this up from Amazon; The Art of Love by Kate Bryan.
"
From Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera to Joseph Cornell and Yayoi Kusama, Josef and Anni Albers to Gilbert & George, Kate Bryan delves into the formation, and sometimes breakdown, of each romance, documenting their highs and lows and revealing just how powerful love can be in the creative process.
Whether long-lasting, peaceful collaborations, or short-lived tumultuous affairs, The Art of Love opens the door on some of the greatest love stories of the twentieth century. "
Grab your copy from Amazon here. Obviously have already pre-ordered it.

Aaaaaand its a wrap...
After the longest, hottest day of the year, where we shot Fall/Winter 2018 in the streets, studio and stations [you'll see!] of balmy Hong Kong, this incredible crew did the most amazing cover shoot for Runway, by Prestige Hong Kong.
That's relief and exhaustion and joy of a job well done. Photographer Dino Busch, stylist Bhisan Rai, model Yana Vilkina.... joyful to work with.
Back in 2008, after a particularly horrific shoot working with one of the b****iest stylist known to mankind, had a self-imposed rule of only working with fun, kind, generous and talented people.
This lot are not only gifted, but the loveliest to work with.
Until next time/shoot/on set lols...

Bow Wow: Shooting dancer David Klar
Truth be told, the main reason we stalked David Klar’s Instagram (@davidjklar) has nothing to do with him or his proficiency as a dancer. He has one of the most beautiful Samoyed dogs we’ve ever seen – a white ball of fluffiness that strikes poses as adeptly as his master. When pressed, Klar promised to bring along Parco – the Siberian Samoyed, who was a rescue – to the shoot. “People pay thousands of dollars for dogs like him – and I found him in a kennel, a small dirty, playful little thing,” he recollects. “With a lot of TLC (and frequent trips to the groomers) he’s just the best bloke.” At our ghetto-fab makeshift studio in the street, he was also the best behaved. The same cannot be said of this crew.
