From dad's side of the family, we have several doctors at home. I'm the black sheep per se.

The Punjabi Pop King is here: Long Live the King! Diljit Dosanjh lands in Hong Kong

At age 41, he may not be considered an overnight success but Diljit Dosanjh's steady, meteoric rise is beyond compare. The Indian singer, actor, superstar has no peers at his stratosphere.

Not going to list out all his groundbreaking achievements --that's why we have AI--but its breathtaking in scope. Its just nice to see a good guy win.

When Diljit did a cover shoot for GQ India with Jackson Wang--Hong Kong's own super celeb--we had an inkling the Punjabi icon was on his way to the 852. His concert, despite its hefty price tag, has done exceptionally well.

With an Emmy nomination under his belt, wonder what career mountains he'll climb next?

The music royalty landed in Hong Kong last night for a one-night-only show. He killed it. Long live the King!

Throwback: Shooting Eurasian model Ana R: outtakes

Some of the outtakes from this photoshoot in Macau, with Hong Kong model, one of my favourite people (I meet most amazing people through work - one of the very few perks esp these days!), gorgeous agency owner Ana R.

We usually meet at events, show face - and then go to our dive to chill with friends without the paparazzi.

Taner in classic Berluti

Berluti accessories shine under the spotlight perhaps a tad more than its refined menswear. After all, Berluti is famed for its leather finishings, so gorgeously presented in a vast collection of shoes, boots, belts, and bags. Established in 1895 by Alessandro Berluti, the brand is based in Paris and under the LVMH umbrella.

With materials as varied as calfskin, kangaroo leather, and alligator skin, perhaps the bespoke suit jackets and ready-to-wear garments don’t get as much love in the press as the accessories do. Well, let’s change that. We are all in for this sophisticated look from Berluti, featuring a Scritto double-face jacket in pebbles grey with matching trousers and an Alessandro shirt in cold night blue. Nothing screams money—it whispers.

Our exclusive contacts at Sotheby’s Maison hinted weeks ago at an undeniably surprising and curious exhibition at their elegant Hong Kong address. When the curtains parted, the collective gasp was audible. Sotheby’s has unveiled its latest exhibit, Eros/Thanatos—Gesamtkunstwerk II, running from 13 to 26 September.

A remarkable showcase offering an immersive exploration of the dualities of human experience, Eros/Thanatos delves into the intricate dance between desire (Eros) and death (Thanatos) through diverse artistic mediums. What’s Happening in Hong Kong’s Drink Scene? The 11 Hottest Bars to Try Right Now

A tipple and a quick bite after work have never been more enticing.

For the second consecutive year, Bar Leone has clinched the top spot in Asia’s 50 Best Bars, with Lorenzo Antinori and his stellar team earning well-deserved accolades—hardly surprising to local media who’ve championed this gem despite its often-daunting queues. But this is Hong Kong—queuing in an orderly fashion is practically a civic duty.

While other Asian cities boast mixologist cocktails and beachside bars with coconuts at arm’s reach, Hong Kong has something unique: a fierce edge honed by brutal rents and relentless competition. Only the strongest survive in this Darwinian landscape, where every barkeep and restaurateur must bring their A-game to stand out in a city teeming with options.

Our friendly neighbourhood haunt—full disclosure, Robb Report Hong Kong’s offices are two streets and a hop and climb away from Bar Leone, and our team frequents it more than we’d care to admit—is buzzing as ever. Securing a booth is now even trickier, but fear not, dear reader, for Hong Kong boasts over 9,000 watering holes. When the queues grow long and the rains loom ominous, there are plenty of stellar alternatives.

In our relentless pursuit of the novel, the different, and the downright delicious, we’ve done the hard yards—sacrificing for the greater good with the precision of a scientist on sabbatical. Here’s our curated guide to Hong Kong’s hottest bars to try right now, and what they’re serving this season.

The result is a stunning interplay of light and texture, inviting the wearer to marvel at the intricate details adorning the dials.

The Micahel Kors shoot with Edwing Chuang

Major throwback to this shoot with Edwin Chuang, a true gent in Hong Kong. We had a partnership with Michael Kors' Hong Kong team for a shoot and interview with three noteworthy young names in the city. Had the joy of working with Edwin for this one.

Olivier Yoan did the photography, Reve for grooming and hair and on set with a dream team to create the pics which I believe are still some of Edwin's favs.

Glory days of magazine life with brand partnerships. Waiting for the next...

T10 and a Van Cleef Dinner

Throwback to 2018, on this day and glamorous night, luck certainly favoured the Van Cleef & Arpels highly anticipated dinner as the weather was... on the brink of T10. The quiet before the storm, not a drop of rain nor gust of wind halted the 50th anniversary festivities and one of the most gorgeous and glamorous nights in Hong Kong.

What a night.

Here we are in 2025 and another T10 is expected in Hong Kong soon...

Taner in Loro Piana for Robb Report Hong Kong

Outtakes from the fashion shoot. On him: Loro Piana full look, Montblanc watch.
Location: Lobby Lounge, Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong

Best in Style:
CRAFTSMANSHIP

LORO PIANA

Loro Piana has forever been a living contradiction. A brand that screams quiet luxury, it embodies such exquisite refinement while showcasing a seemingly indiscriminate abundance of cashmere and extra-fine wool in its timeless garments. Loro Piana has seamlessly introduced vicu.a into the fashion lexicon, a term that has been the preserve of the elite for decades.

Little is disclosed regarding the designers behind Loro Piana’s creations, or the specific timelines of releases. Instead, we find ourselves captivated by the craftsmanship, scrutinising the sheer perfection of each piece, like the complete ensemble on display on this page. Loro Piana’s Eliott blouson in saffron tea presents a short and contemporary silhouette, serving as a modern interpretation of the biker jacket. Expertly crafted from refined linen and silk, this innovative fabric features three layers, united by a weatherproofing Storm System membrane at its core. Its outer layers are composed of linen and silk, while the interior boasts Antigua linen, and the raglan sleeves and generously sized patch pockets enhance the garment’s sense of ease and comfort.

Complementing this is the Gift of Kings crewneck, exemplifying exquisite craftsmanship through a regular-fit jumper fashioned from impeccably refined wool yarn. Its double-knit technique artfully juxtaposes the tonalities of the front and back, creating a distinctive and sophisticated aesthetic that is equally suited for both business and leisure. Paired with the Como trousers, the look showcases the maison’s adeptness at elevating even the most relaxed designs. Cut from jersey cotton with a substantial drape and an ultra-soft fleece interior, these trousers prioritise comfort without compromising style. Featuring a knitted waistband with an inner drawstring for an impeccable fit, alongside elasticated ankles to retain warmth, they epitomise Loro Piana’s dedication to both luxury and functionality.

Throwback Tuesday: Making image selects with stylist and art director Tasha Ling

When editing Galaxy magazine all those years ago, Tasha Ling often styled and art-directed the cover shoot. We picked photographers, hair and make-up team, models and so on. After the shoot, we'd get 100s of pics from the photographer and make selects for the spread and pick 'the' shot for the cover. Some pics we both agreed on, others... well. Lols.
