Lunar New Year 2025: 3 Luxurious Spirits to Celebrate the Year of the Snake

Penfolds, Hennessy, and Rémy Martin are serving in style with a generous pour.

Annually, we highlight Lunar New Year special-edition bottles from the finest brands in town. Last year, much was ballyhooed about the Year of the Dragon and the designer bottles that dropped; before that, the Year of the Rabbit saw a very special bottle, and Ruinart released a gorgeous artistic drop the year before that. Well, this Lunar New Year, artists and artisans have gone all out once again, collaborating with those who quench our thirst.

As the Lunar New Year approaches, the anticipation for exquisite offerings moves from slow sizzle to the full rage of red. Fine grapes are working overtime to deliver. It is the Year of the Wood Snake, after all, so tapping on those wooden casks and crates, we have found just the right timbre with Penfolds, Hennessy, and Rémy Martin.

Bulgari Unveils the Serpenti Infinito Campaign, Celebrating the Year of the Snake in Style

A timely release on a timeless journey as many parts of Asia are about to be coiled with the snake motif.

In a few days, the auspicious Year of the Snake will begin according to the Chinese zodiac calendar—one of prosperity, good health, and wealth. As many luxury brands proffer designs coiled in a serpentine motif, Bulgari stands in its own lane; the illustrious Roman house has long been synonymous with opulence, artistry, and a profound connection to its rich heritage. The best of Menswear in Winter: Loro Piana

As the temperature drops dramatically this weekend—for Hong Kong standards—its perfect weather to snuggle into a cocooning turtleneck in cashmere fleece with “Jamo” pants in cotton corduroy, from the good people of Loro Piana.

We gently sifted through their latest collection (as seen and worn by innumerable celebrities this season as they hit the ski slopes), and a perfect touch was felt in every piece; Loro Piana doesn’t joke around with their threads; cashmere, Mohair, silk blend, extrafine wool, cashmere flannel, double faced pure New Zealand wool, silk blend cashmere are the sort of rich materials we are dealing with consistently. Like faultless ingredients for a perfect recipe, what makes Loro Piana run in its own lane beyond others is easily their adherence to refined and exquisite material. We couldn’t pick between the grey turtleneck and the pure black turtleneck in baby cashmere paired with “Reinga” pants in wool and cashmere (with a loose silhouette that’s got a delicious retro vibe), so here both are.

The black turtleneck should be in every elegant man’s wardrobe; be it Robert Redford or Robert Pattinson, we’ve seen every decade’s defining debonair sport a variation of the wardrobe staple. Heck, the OG “tech bro,” Steve Jobs ran his entire campaign wearing it.

Top Fashion Photographers in Hong Kong: The best of the Best

These are the best fashion photographers who are in Hong Kong today - as far as I know!

Olivier and Dino.

Oh this is going to be tricky, but here are the creatives in alphabetical order, not in order of preference, talent or popularity!

We all have our favourites for whatever reason, preference of style. There is no good or bad, just different... From the minimalist to the maximalist, for the fresh perspective or the classics of the genre, these men and women will deliver.

My usual crew are sadly no longer in Hong Kong, but had they been here, would top the list; Ayesha Broacha, Douglas Pieterse, Anushka Menon, Sabrina Sikora, Laurent Segretier, Dino Busch, Olivier Yoan, Ike, Jeff Hahn, James Gabbard, Jonas Lille, Yana Vilkina... etc etc. There was a time I only did cover shoots with Olaf Mueller. Its funny how time changes everything...

The top photographers in the world currently are all women, many of the guys seem to have been cancelled (you know why!)... A few years ago, I heard an infuriating comment from a fella in position of power to saw 'we only give campaigns and covers to the guys.' Now I go out of my way to make sure I work with female photographers cause wow, the walls they have to climb and the mountains in the way...

Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II Makes a Grand Splash in Hong Kong

A first look for some, a second for others, the latest car by the beloved British marque is already a winner at hand.

Last December, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Hong Kong proudly unveiled the Cullinan Series II at an exclusive launch event held in its state-of-the-art showroom. The occasion marked the arrival of a model that redefines luxury in the super-SUV segment, establishing a new benchmark in opulence and performance.

For Robb Report Hong Kong, and indeed the Robb Report family, of course, it was in fact not the first look. Days prior to the official unveiling, the Robb Report Hong Kong team, and our VIP guests, were given a sneak peek at the dream machine at the black-tie dinner following the Leaders of Luxury Summit 2024, two weeks before the official launch of the Cullinan series. As guests arrived in their gown and glory, circling the entrance of Regent Hong Kong, the latest Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II model was lined up in all its glistening elegance and sun-kissed dazzle—as these exclusive images show. A picture-perfect first look at the truly grand vehicle, little did many know of how epic the preview was for motor enthusiasts.
